Named after his grandfather, former New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning, Arch is the son of Peyton and Ally’s older brother, Cooper, who was also a top college recruit before his NCAA football career was cut short by spinal stenosis.

Ark picked Texas, a historically strong program that’s coming off a terrific 3-6 season, including several major powerhouses, including alabamaLSU, Clemson, and Defending-Champion Georgia Bulldog. He also played at Ole Miss – Archie, Ellie and Cooper’s alma mater.

The 18-year-old followed in the footsteps of his father and uncles and attended the Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, where the third-generation football star has debuted as a freshman at quarterback.

The 18-year-old followed in the footsteps of his father and uncles and attended the Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, where the third-generation football star has debuted as a freshman at quarterback.

Archie Manning told the indie star in 2019 to compare the young arch with his uncles, saying “he’s probably a little ahead of them as a freshman.”

Since then, Ark has risen to the top of every college football coach’s wish list, while doing his best to maintain his personal life. His Instagram account is private, and his Twitter account has been created for the sole purpose of announcing his college decision on Thursday.

Interestingly, Ark has done no name, image or likeness (NIL) deals like many recruits have done since the NCAA loosened restrictions on supporting student athletes. However, that may change now as he has settled in Texas.

Ark’s commitment represents the first major recruiting victory for Texas head coach Steve Sarkeesian, who took over the long-running schedule last season and has been charged with rebuilding the four-time national champion into a powerhouse. .
