The Punjab School Education Department has ordered the teachers, administration and other staff members of all government and private schools under the jurisdiction of the department to get the corona virus vaccine vaccinated by August 21, 2021.

Punjab’s provincial school education minister Murad Ras said on Wednesday that only vaccinated staff would be allowed to enter the school premises after the deadline.

The provincial minister took to Twitter to share a picture of a written notification issued by the ministry.

“All teachers, administration and staff of government and private schools in Punjab will be vaccinated by August 22, 2021. No person will be allowed in the school premises after the due date without vaccination certificate. Please follow the SOPs issued,” Ras wrote on his official Twitter account.

It has been said in the notification that in pursuance of what was agreed in the meeting held with the National Command and Operation Center on Wednesday, instructions have been issued for immediate vaccination of school staff.

“as discussed” […], It is hereby ordered that the non-vaccinated employees of the School Education Department shall not be permitted to enter any school/office after August 21, 2021,” read the notification.

To open schools with 50% attendance in Punjab

The directions were issued after the Punjab government decided to reopen schools with 50% attendance following a statement by Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood that allowed educational institutions across the country to function.

“The Inter-Provincial Education Meeting Conference has decided to keep educational institutions open across the country except in Sindh, where they will remain closed at least till August 8,” Mahmood said in the day.
