Punjab: Four more grenades, three pistols recovered from Batala’s Suchetgarh village

Two days after arresting two terrorists, Punjab Police on Tuesday claimed that another hand grenade along with some arms and ammunition has been recovered from Dhariwal-Batala road near Suchetgarh village in Batala district.

The fresh seizures were made by Amritsar (Rural) police on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday after the interrogation of two alleged terrorists, identified as Amritpal Singh and Sammy, residents of Amritsar, who were apprehended on August 15. Two grenades, one pistol (9 mm), some live bullets and magazines were recovered from their possession.

The duo reportedly told the police that they belonged to a United Kingdom (UK)-based group, and were acting on the instructions of Gurpreet Singh Khalsa alias Gurpreet, who lives in the UK.

Sharing the information, Punjab Police Spokesperson said that after the interrogation and revelations conducted by the two arrested suspects, SSP, Amritsar Rural, Gulneet Singh, led a team led by SHO, Gharinda, to conduct a search operation at Suchetgarh. sent for of Monday and Tuesday.

During the search, the police team recovered four more grenades, three pistols (9 mm), six magazines and 30 live cartridges from the spot, he said.
