Punjab: AAP seeks clarification on Kashmir remark made by Navjot Sidhu’s advisor

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab co-in-charge and Delhi MLA Raghav Chadha on Thursday sought an explanation from the Congress leadership on the remarks made by Malvinder Singh Mali, advisor to Punjab Pradesh Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu, on Kashmir being an independent country.

Lashing out at the Punjab Congress President, AAP state president Bhagwant Mann also said that the statements made by Sidhu through his advisors against the integrity and sovereignty of the country are hurting the state and the people of the country. AAP leaders warned Sidhu to stop doing politics of polarization and dividing the country.

Raghav Chadha said, Sidhu may be a part of Congress, but BJP It is still in his veins, because BJP has always been doing the politics of dividing the country and Sidhu was also adopting the same tactic. He also asked Sidhu whether he does not consider Kashmir to be a part of India. Does he want Kashmir to be given the status of a separate country? Such statements going against the country do not suit them.

Seeking an explanation from Sidhu, Chadha said that he should apologize to the people of Punjab and the country as their sentiments have been hurt by such anti-national statements. AAP leaders said that Punjab is the land of heroes and Sidhu’s statement of making Kashmir a separate country through his advisor has insulted the soldiers of Punjab and the country deployed on the borders.

He said that such remarks against the country and such anti-national thinking have put a question mark on the martyrdom of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives on the borders of India. AAP leaders questioned whether the martyrdom of the soldiers did not matter. He said, “Aam Aadmi Party condemns this kind of thinking of Sidhu and the people of the country will never forgive him.” In the assembly elections to be held next year, he will have to bear the brunt of his narrow thinking and petty politics.
