Pune: PMC to bring book on handling of COVID-19 pandemic

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) administration has decided to come out with a book that covers the experience of the civic body. COVID-19 Status of last two years.

“PMC has decided to come up with a 200-250 page book on the experience of dealing with the pandemic and preventing the spread of the virus. This can be beneficial for the future. The information can also help others in the state,” said Sanjeev Vavre, assistant medical officer for health.

He said that the information contained in the book would help in planning health facilities in future. The book will also include experiences from health workers, frontline workers, elected representatives and civic officials. “In addition, data will be collected from private organizations in this,” the official said.

PMC will publish at least 1,000 copies of the book in Marathi and English languages.

The civic body also plans to provide detailed information about its experience in setting up COVID Care Centers (CCCs) with provision of ICU beds and ventilators, contact-tracing and door-to-door surveys.
