Pune: 2 employees duped car dealerships of vehicles worth Rs 53 lakh by giving fake orders from ‘MoD’

Pune: A car dealership in Vimannagar was duped of Rs 53 lakh after two of its employees and their associates allegedly prepared fake purchase orders in the name of defense personnel.

The purchase orders were for five cars and were forged to look like they were from the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) of the Ministry of Defense (MoD).

An FIR has been registered in the matter by the General Manager of the company at Vimantal police station.

Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case against two employees working as sales executives and another person, who claimed to be agents receiving orders from CSD.

Sub-Inspector SA Jadhav, Investigating Officer of the case said, “Customers coming through CSD get exemption on GST. It is alleged that in July and August, the suspects prepared five fake purchase orders in the name of defense personnel. The total value of the five cars that the suspects took away in this way is Rs 53 lakh. We have started investigation…”
