Duane Tresnich, Search Manager Central Okanagan Search and RescueSaid in an earlier interview.

Cameron Noonan, transportation planner for the City of Kelowna, said the city is currently running a competitive selection process for a new operational period that will last two years.

The call for proposals opened on 2 April and will close on 7 May.

“Lime’s existing permit, which expired April 20, has been tentatively extended through July 7,” Noonan said. “This will give us time to conduct a comprehensive selection process. It also gives the successful proponent time to set up local operations, with the goal of providing continuity for users.

Noonan could not comment on the number of applications already submitted. However, he said all companies providing this type of service in Canada are aware of this opportunity.
