Prakash Raj’s reaction on Jai Bhim’s slap scene controversy: ‘Did not see the suffering of tribals’

Suriya’s latest release Jai Bheem is receiving immense love from the audience, celebrities and critics. However, a section of social media users have expressed their displeasure over a particular scene.

In the scene, Prakash Raj’s character slaps a person who speaks in Hindi and asks him to speak in Tamil instead. The scene did not go down well with many netizens as they criticized it and called it anti-Hindi propaganda.

Now, Prakash Raj has addressed the issue. He said Jai Bhim It is about injustice against tribals, but some chose to view the scene from a perspective that highlights their “agenda”.

After watching a movie like Jai Bhim, he didn’t see the suffering of the tribal people, he didn’t see the injustice and felt terrible, but he saw only slap. That’s all I understood. It exposes their agenda,” he said, adding that at the time the film is set, a person would have reacted the same way if Hindi was imposed on him.

Directed by TJ Gyanvel, Jai Bheem is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film stars Surya, Lijomol Jose, Prakash Raj and Rao Ramesh among others.
