“It is a well-known fact that anyone who runs a YouTube channel gets remunerated for views and engagement as the website is designed to encourage and encourage the sharing of sensationalist information without any fact-checking mechanism or regulation. Therefore, by posting hate speech against my client, you are trying to create controversy just to attract attention,” the notice said.

The notice states that Khan has violated the privacy of the PPP leader’s mother. It said that when Farooqui initiated legal action in this regard, “Instead of understanding the agony of a daughter, whose mother is mourning the loss of her husband, and is subject to sarcasm and ridicule by you, you have done the same thing.” Took recourse to the YouTube channel as a means of revenge.”

The complainant’s counsel said that, therefore, it is clear that Khan’s remarks were made with malicious intent, and intended to create social media publicity as “a distasteful attempt to increase viewership at the cost of my client’s goodwill”. .

The complainant demanded Khan to withdraw the publication and circulation of the video within 15 days from the date of legal notice.

“You are also liable to pay Rs 50 million as compensation for the damage to my client’s reputation and his mental injury and suffering within 15 days from the date of this legal notice,” the notice said.

Khan to retaliate with defamation notice of his own

In response, the TV show host said that she would also send a defamation notice of Rs 50 million to the politician.

In a video seen by don.com, she said that it seems Farooqui was not done with her “drama” and needed more “promotion and screen time”.

She said her lawyers had informed her from the start that there was a “strong case” against Farooqui, but she decided to wait and see if the PPP leader would shut up. “But she’s not going to keep quiet,” adding that Farooqui had made up “an imaginary situation in her head.”
