New Delhi: The flaws in the online insurance broker’s system Policybazaar India The cyber security research firm on Wednesday claimed that it exposed the personal details of lakhs of its customers, including defense personnel. CyberX9 said base and pan Card details as well as customers’ addresses and phone numbers were exposed due to the vulnerabilities and the issue was reported to PolicyBazaar on July 18.
On 24 July, PolicyBazaar informed stock exchanges that it had noticed the vulnerabilities on 19 July and that no critical customer data had been exposed. When contacted on Wednesday, PolicyBazaar spokesperson referred to its filing to the stock exchanges made on July 24 and said that the identified vulnerabilities have been fixed duly confirmed by an external advisor.
“A thorough forensic audit of the incident has been initiated with external consultants. The incident was covered by the media. We have nothing more to add,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
