Police looking to talk to eyewitnesses after hit-and-run whitby,

Durham Regional Police said that around 3:50 pm on Tuesday, officers received information that a pedestrian had been killed in a private parking lot at 80 Thickeson Road South.

Authorities said the victim – a 23-year-old driver – was in the parking lot when the suspicious vehicle made “slight contact with her car.”

Police said the suspect’s vehicle – a beige or tan SUV – reportedly drove away.

Officials said the driver ran behind the vehicle and tried to stop them from leaving.

“The woman was dragged and suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” police said in a news release. “The victim was taken to a trauma center and the suspect vehicle was last seen driving south on Thickson Road.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has a dashcam or other video footage, is asked to contact the police or crime stoppers.
