Twenty-five people have been charged as part of a “massive” dismantling. Ontario drug trafficking Network, say police.

York Regional Police said on Friday that an investigation into the network was launched in June 2021.

At first, police were targeting drug trafficking within the York area. Yet police say they eventually discovered that the ring was selling drugs throughout GTA and other parts of Ontario, including London, the Durham area, and Kavartha Lake.

Several police forces joined in and started “Project Entrust”.

“The officers screened the individuals for more than a year before systematically arresting and indicting the suspects,” police said.

Nineteen search warrants were executed between June 2021 and June this year, resulting in 113 crimes against 25 suspects.

Police allege that about $23,000 in firearms, ammunition, and magazines, as well as illegal drugs, including fentanyl, oxycodone pills, crack cocaine and methamphetamine, were confiscated.

Officials said $136,000 in Canadian currency was also seized, along with two stolen vehicles and one vehicle.

Police said that investigation is on.
