Two residents of Regina were charged with a break and entry investigation that took place in Pilot Butte, Sask., Territory and Ara firearms And the vehicles were stolen.

White Butte RCMP received a report of a break in at a rural residence outside Pilot Butte on New Year’s Eve and learned that a firearms safe and five guns, as well as an SUV, were stolen.

The SUV was found burned later that day in Regina.

The RCMP then received a report of a burglary at a commercial building in Edenwold on 2 January.

Police found that the vehicle used by the suspects had also been reported stolen in Regina, and several items were stolen from the building, including a snowmobile, ID, and an illegally modified gun.

Officers received a report of a stolen snowmobile on Highway 46 and arrested a man with some stolen goods.

White Butte RCMP worked with Lumsden RCMP and the Regina Police Service to execute two search warrants at residences in Regina and arrest another suspect.

Numerous items were seized, including gun safes, firearms, gun parts, and items suspected to have been stolen.

Justin McDonald, 31, was arrested on ten charges related to firearms and burglary, and Monty Beers, 28, was arrested on four charges related to burglary.

Both suspects made their first court appearance on Monday, but the commander of the White Butte RCMP says the work is not done.

“When we received these reports of break-ins and thefts, White Butte RCMP, along with neighboring RCMP detachments and investigators from the Regina Police Service, quickly began piecing together evidence that ultimately resulted in charges being laid against these individuals ,” Staff Sgt. Corey Niedzielski said.

“Our work is not done. We are continuing to investigate whether others are potentially involved and if there are connections to other break-ins reported in the area. We are returning some of these recovered items to their correct locations. Will also work to reunite them with the owners.
