Pete Davidson and Colin Jost Joke About Buying a Staten Island Ferry Boat During Weekend Update on ‘SNL’

The “Saturday Night Live” stars scoffed at the recent Staten Island Ferry purchase during the show’s Weekend Update.

The segment began with a famous skit titled Guy Who Just Bought a Boat, directed by “SNL” star Alex Moffatt.

“We’re boat people, Colin,” Davidson said at one point. “I mean, you always were. You look like you own a yacht you rented for a rap video.”

To which Jost replied with a smile, “That’s so exciting. We thought the whole thing through.”

It was revealed by The New York Post over the weekend that the comedian had purchased a decommissioned Staten Island Ferry boat for $280,100 along with Stand Comedy Club owner Paul Italia. It’s a suitable buy, as both Jost and Davidson are from Staten Island.

The yacht is named after President John F. Kennedy. Italia told the outlet that they hope to eventually convert it into a nightclub.
