Person missing, person hospitalized after snowmobile falls through ice in Lake Ontario | globalnews.ca

One person is missing and another is in the hospital after that snowmobile fell through the ice into the waters of a southern Ontario Lake.

Ontario Provincial Police say they were contacted at 10:45 a.m. Sunday by a cottager who saw two men in the waters of Six Mile Lake in the town of Georgian Bay, more than 150 kilometers north of Toronto.

The OPP says officers attended the scene with fire crews and support crews and took over rescue efforts from local residents.

They say one person was pulled from the freezing water and taken to a local hospital.

The second person has not been found but the OPP say rescue efforts are ongoing.
