Officials said that people of the area were drinking water without filter, which also triggered the outbreak. More than 200 cases of diarrhea have been reported from Peermuchalla till now.
A Zirakpur Municipal Council (MC) official said that after the outbreak they had investigated the source of the outbreak and it was found that submersibles were installed in the area, and people were drinking untreated water for a long time.
