Peermuchalla: Submersible, untreated water causes diarrheal outbreaks

The submersible installed in the Peermuchalla area was identified as the cause of diarrheal outbreak in the area. Officials said that people of the area were drinking water without filter, which also triggered the outbreak. More than 200 cases of diarrhea have been reported from Peermuchalla till now.

A Zirakpur Municipal Council (MC) official said that after the outbreak they had investigated the source of the outbreak and it was found that submersibles were installed in the area, and people were drinking untreated water for a long time.

“This is one of the reasons. We had collected many water samples and many samples failed our test,” said the official.
