A new travel advisory of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said on Tuesday that Pakistan has imposed a fresh ban on incoming passengers, as the fourth coronavirus wave takes hold in the country.

The CAA said in the new travel advisory that all travelers aged six years and above will be required to obtain a valid negative PCR test result within 72 hours from the commencement of their travel to Pakistan.

“All incoming passengers of 6 years of age and above will be tested through rapid antigen testing on arrival in Pakistan,” the travel advisory said.

It said that the passengers who test positive between the age of six to 12 years will be home quarantined under the supervision of the concerned authorities.

“The passengers who test positive above the age of 12 years will be kept in a designated facility as per the already prevalent procedure,” the travel advisory said.

“Keeping in view the volatile nature of the COVID-19 situation, any or all incoming passengers may be subjected to additional conditions, as mandated by the concerned health authorities on arrival in Pakistan,” the advisory said.
