Oppo Enco M32 earphones review: Clarity and convenience

And I thought we were done with neckband style earphones. but no one, OppositionThe latest, the Enco M32, falls back on this tried and tested form factor and hopes to capitalize on the need for everyone to have a good wireless earphone to stay connected for work and entertain themselves afterward .

The Oppo Enco M32 has a familiar design with a band that hangs around your neck with the earphones on either side. The earphones have magnetic backs and are interconnected to turn off the music. On the right side of the band are the volume keys along with the control buttons, play/pause. There is a flap at the bottom to access the USB-C charging port. All quite simple.

The M32 paired smoothly with my iPhone and I was listening to songs in a matter of seconds. Even though neckband earphones are common, many of them don’t have the right design and often the earphones pop out as the rest of the band keeps tugging on it all the time. With the M32 you soon forget that you are wearing earphones as there is hardly any weight and the band is perfectly balanced on your neck.

Silicone fins only come in one size, and you may need a larger tip to keep the earphones in place. (Image credit: Nandagopal Rajan/Indian Express)

The earphones have silicone fins that hold them in place. However, the fins only come in one size and some of you may need to use a larger tip to hold the earphones, especially if you are going for jogging. With the basic tip for me, the right earphone kept dropping after a few minutes of jogging.

The Enco M32’s design tells you that it is serious about its interiors. And these Oppo earphones are packed with a 10mm composite titanium-plated diaphragm dynamic unit with an independent sound cavity. This means the M32 delivers superior levels of clarity in audio that you’d expect of something in this price range.

Listening to Susan Wong’s version of Sound of Silence I could clearly hear layers of audio, soft guitar strums in the background, pregnant pauses. Listening to Besam Mucho in a FLAC-only playlist on Spotify, the song’s complexity came to the fore, but did not emphasize Chantal Chamberland’s soulful rendition of the classic. The M32 clearly has a balmy bass that layers everything you hear, which will appeal to the Indian audience that this product is targeting. I am inclined towards sharp notes.

At Rs 2,999, the Oppo Enco M32 offers a musical quality and convenience that is unusual at this price point. And the quick charging capabilities come as an added advantage for the users. Oppo M32 is one of the best options in this price range.
