“An apology that begins with ‘if I offended anyone’ is not an apology. But it’s Tiger. Never been a leader and he’s Teflon,” Johnson wrote on Twitter on Friday. “Still declared after all the mistakes, so he hasn’t learned anything. The media always focuses on the miraculous improvement. Why there is never a need for an improvement.”

Woods handed the tampon to Thomas after he overshot him on a hole in the first round of the tournament. Thomas laughed at what Woods called a “prank”, but Woods said many people didn’t take it lightly.

Woods said: “If I offended anyone in any way, shape, or form, I’m sorry. It was not intended to be. We poke fun at each other all the time. In fact, I think That it didn’t come up.” Kind of like that, but between us, it’s different.”

Woods and Thomas have grown close since the latter became a pro. They were paired together during the 2019 Presidents Cup, helping their team win both their matches.
