Ola Electric extends test rides of the e-scooter across India

Ola Electric on Saturday said it has expanded customer trial rides for its electric scooters across the country.

With this expansion, customers in over 1,000 cities and towns will be able to test and experience the ride of the Ola S1 electric scooter, a statement said.

The test rides will initially be open only to those who have purchased or booked the Ola S1 and S1 Pro scooters.

Ola started test rides in Bengaluru, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Kolkata on November 10 and then on November 19, it opened five more cities – Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai and Pune.

The company will now rapidly add more locations to ensure all customers have access to test rides by December 15, the statement said.

“The customer response to our test rides has been phenomenally positive and we are really thrilled to see their enthusiasm for the revolutionary Ola S1 scooter. Arun Sirdeshmukh, Chief Business Officer, Ola Electric, said, “Thousands of customers are taking test rides every day and loving the best in class design, performance, technology and ride quality that the Ola S1 delivers.”

He added that the company will rapidly scale up test rides in the coming weeks and cover over 1,000 cities and towns across India to ensure that every customer has access to test rides by mid-December.

“This is the fastest national scale of test rides ever and the revolution in automotive retail is made possible by our direct-to-consumer model,” he said.

Customer trial rides will start in the next set of cities starting November 27 in cities including Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode. Visakhapatnam, VijayawadaCoimbatore, Vadodara, Bhubaneswar, Tiruppur, Jaipur and Nagpur, the statement said.

Ola Electric had unveiled two e-scooters, Ola S1 and S1 Pro in August this year. In September, Ola said sales of its first electric scooter crossed Rs 1,100 crore in two days.
