OIC, WHO increased cooperation in the health sector

JEDDAH: Tarigh Ali Bakhiyet, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, recently met Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization in Geneva.

Bakhiyet, who is also the OIC Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Afghanistan, and Ghebreyesus discussed mobilizing resources and support to strengthen the health sector in Afghanistan and the Sahel region, including increasing access to COVID-19 vaccines.
