PARAKH, Iraq: Abandoned sandals and upholstered chairs testify to the panic that gripped this peaceful resting place in Iraq’s Kurdish mountains when deadly shelling broke out this week.
Turkey denies that its forces were responsible for the artillery fire that killed nine people and injured 23 on Wednesday.
But the government and Kurdish regional officials in Baghdad, who conducted a press tour of the lunch spot in the border village of Parakh, have both said the Turkish military was to blame.
