Innovo Kitchen owner John La Posta reprimanded Gillibrand on Friday.

La Posta shared her frustration at Gillibrand’s double standards, along with surveillance footage that showed her in a restaurant without a mask.

Gillibrand was slammed by Innovo Kitchen owner, John La Posta, on Friday after he was caught in surveillance video not wearing a mask at the Democrat's Latham restaurant.

‘Masks are a mandate from the governor. As good citizens, agree or not, we must follow our leaders. Her guest is wearing one decently. I think Senator Gillibrand thinks the governor is wrong or that he is special and above the rules,’ he continued.

Gillibrand has been very vocal about her support for vaccination and the use of masks.

‘Protect yourself and help reduce stress on hospitals and health care workers. Get vaccinated and promoted,’ she tweeted earlier this week.

In surveillance video shared by La Posta, Gillibrand can be seen strolling without a mask in an upstairs New York restaurant.

La Posta said restaurant staff didn’t have a chance to ask Gillibrand to wear a mask because he blew up a ‘mask required to enter’ sign.

La Posta told New York Post He believed his employees deserved an apology.

‘It’s hypocritical to me. Arrogance is just breathtaking. Our politicians should be with us, not against us,’ he told the outlet.

In December, Governor Cathy Hochul reinstated the state’s mask mandate for businesses after a surge in COVID cases ahead of the holidays.

Businesses can opt out of requiring masks for customers and instead require proof of vaccination.

Innovo Kitchen does not ask customers for proof of vaccination, but does require them to wear a mask while sitting or walking around the restaurant.

Failure to comply with the statewide mask mandate could result in a $1,000 fine.
