a couple in North Carolina A 2-year-old in the home has been charged with negligent child abuse after narcotics were found in his system.
The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home on Jan. 4 when the boy went into cardiac arrest, the department said in a press release Friday.
The child and his mother, Anna Maria Mills, 23, were taken to the hospital. Information about the condition of the innocent has not been received. Fox News has gone digital Sheriff’s Office.
At the home, a 24-year-old man named Kali Ahmed Tobey allegedly assaulted a deputy while the officers were speaking to him and then tried to flee. The department said it appeared he was under the influence of something.

When he was taken to the magistrate’s office he was arrested and also experienced a medical emergency. The department said he allegedly assaulted the same deputy a second time when the deputy was attempting to assist him.

Mills was charged with felonies, reckless child abuse-serious bodily injury and child abuse.
They were issued $130,000 and $75,000 bonds, respectively.
