NEET 2022 bra removal row: Exam center staff allegedly asked students ‘future or your dress’ – Bharat Times Hindi News

during National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2022A staff member of an examination center in Kollam reportedly asked the students, “What is your priority, what is your future or your dress?” Investigators are now probing the search operation. The incident reportedly took place on July 17 when several girl students were asked to remove their innerwear before appearing for the examination.

A 17-year-old youth had lodged a complaint with the Superintendent of Police on July 18, who brought it to light. Following the complaint, several other girls came out with similar claims. Now, a statement filed by the Kollam district police chief in the Kerala High Court has revealed some more details. The statement revealed that the complainant was wearing a T-shirt and was reluctant to remove the clothes inside her.

The matter gained momentum after much uproar after the incident. Protests and marches were organized by several student unions, some of which also resulted in violence.

A leading news agency report said, “The cleaning staff forced her to remove her dress and appear for the exam, asking what is the priority, either her future or her dress.” The statement further mentioned that female candidates wearing some transparent clothes were forced to sit in the examination hall in front of male candidates.

It was also alleged that the Chief Coordinator of the Examination Center and the NTA Supervisor were aware of the incident but decided to take any rational decision or intervene to prevent it from happening.

Taking cognizance of the incident, the NTA said in a statement, “The incident was just a casualty and a case has already been registered at Chadayamangalam police station.” The statement said that all the accused in the case have been arrested. “Later, he was released on bail. The investigation by the police is proceeding,” the statement read.
