A statement from the NBA via CBS Sports read, “NBA security and league investigators interviewed several eyewitnesses and reviewed video surveillance following allegations made by the Indiana Pacers organization regarding a post-game incident on Jan. 29. ”
“While we confirmed that a postgame situation arose that was confrontational, based on interviews and other evidence, we could not confirm that any individual threatened others with a weapon. Certain individuals involved in the postgame situation and that The matter concerned during the night game has resulted in a ban from participating in subsequent games at the arena. If additional information regarding the post-game situation becomes available, the league office will conduct a further review.”
There is a backstory to this situation.
During the game, a scuffle broke out between the Grizzlies and Pacers, where Morant’s father, T, and his close friend, Devonte Pack, were involved from their courtside seats. The video appears to show the pack standing up and walking towards the scrum before being stopped.

Morant indicated that Pack had been banned from the FedEx Forum for a year.
“Did an investigation see they were capin,” Morant wrote on Twitter, “Still let an article come out to paint this negative image of me and my family. And get my brother banned from domestic games for a year. Unbelievable.”
When asked after the game what led to the scuffle, Morant said that it was started by Pacers guard Andrew Nembard, who told his father to “shut up”.

“I took his temperature. He didn’t have a fever,” Morant told reporters.
After the game, two parked SUVs were visited by the Pacers’ traveling party and some of Morant’s teammates, including Pack, began yelling at them. The Athletic says this happened between 15-20 minutes before it was broken up by security.

Morant would eventually get into one of the SUVs, and as he drove away, members of the Pacers party said they saw red lasers. A member of the security staff believed it was “100 percent a gun.”
Head coach Taylor Jenkins addressed the situation before the Grizzlies’ 106-103 loss toronto raptors on Sunday.
“This was addressed internally. Aware the NBA did a thorough investigation. We were fully compliant with it,” he summarized.

Morant, who was named an All-Star for the second straight season, had an impressive triple-double in the win over Indiana, dropping 27 points to go along with 15 assists and 10 rebounds.
