Nawab Malik stands firm on his claim, Sameer Wankhede is a Muslim by birth

NCP leader and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik on Sunday said he stood by his claims that he is the Mumbai zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau. Sameer Wankhede He was a Muslim by birth and had got a fake certificate made to get a government job.

Talking to reporters here, Malik said that he is not fighting the battle of caste or religion, but is highlighting how a government job was obtained on a “fake” caste certificate.

Malik has been targeting Wankhede for the past several days, which carried out raids on a cruise ship here earlier this month during which drugs were allegedly recovered.

The minister has repeatedly claimed that the entire operation on the cruise ship on October 2, during which actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was placed among others, was “fake”.

Wankhede had earlier denied the minister’s allegations against him.

On Sunday, Malik claimed that even though Wankhede was a Muslim, he started “changing his identity since 2015” after Sameer Wankhede made headlines when he stopped some Bollywood celebrities at the Mumbai airport.

“On his social media accounts, Dawood Wankhede (NCB officer’s father) became DK Wankhede and later Gyandev. Yasmin Wankhede (NCB officer’s sister) became Jasmine and divorced her husband, who is a Muslim and has now settled in Europe,” the NCP leader said.

He also objected to the statement of Arun Halder, Deputy Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, that Wankhede never converted.

“Haldar may be a BJP leader, but he has been appointed to a constitutional post. Instead of appearing before the media and commenting that Wankhede has not converted, he should verify all the facts of what he has been given, prepare his report and submit it to the Parliament. A person who is not from a Scheduled Caste cannot claim the benefit,” he said.

“Sameer Wankhede never converted because he is a Muslim by birth. His father had converted and both the children were born Muslim. I am not fighting the battle of caste and religion, but I am highlighting how government jobs were obtained on fake caste certificates,” Malik said.
