Murder investigation after man found stabbed outside London hospital

A murder investigation has been launched after a man died after he was stabbed outside a London hospital.

Police officers were dealing with a separate case at King’s College Hospital in south London when they met a man in his 20s outside the building at around 4.55am on Saturday.

The man, who is yet to be identified, suffered knife injuries and was admitted to the hospital by a friend. Police believe she was stabbed in Clapham High Street.

The force said the officials tried to administer first aid and arranged emergency treatment for him, but he died shortly after.

Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. No arrest has been made so far.

Detective Inspector Matt Denby said: “The victim was taken to hospital by a friend, but sadly his injuries proved fatal. As I begin working alongside dedicated colleagues and homicide investigators, my thoughts and Sympathy goes out to the family and friends of this person.

“I can assure them of our full commitment to finding whoever was responsible and bringing them to justice.

“I am appealing for any witnesses who have yet to speak to police to contact us and share what they saw or anything they know which may assist the investigation. “
