Mumbai Police probing extortion charges against 4 ED officials: Shiv Sena MP Raut

It is alleged that the Enforcement Directorate officials were acting as “ATMs” for them BJP, Shiv Sena Leader Sanjay Raut on Tuesday said that the Mumbai Police is probing extortion charges against four officials of the central agency and some of them will go to jail.

Addressing a press conference here, Raut said whenever a company has been raided by the Enforcement Directorate, it has transferred money to firms belonging to Jitendra Navlani.

“The ED and some of its officials have become ATMs (automated teller machines) for the BJP,” Raut said.

“Mumbai Police was probing allegations of extortion and corruption against four ED officials. Mumbai Police is capable of this. And mark my words… Some ED officials will go to jail,” claimed the Rajya Sabha MP.

Raut, however, did not reveal the names or designations of these ED officials.

His remarks came on a day when the Income Tax Department raided some office-bearers of Shiv Sena, including a leader considered close to Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray.
