Mumbai: NCB SIT dismisses three cases; Only to investigate the cases of Sameer Khan, Aryan Khan and Armaan Kohli

The NCB’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) took up six cases for further investigation from the Mumbai unit of NCB following an uproar over alleged procedural irregularities by the zonal director. Sameer Wankhede, now three cases have been left.

Headed by an IG-rank officer, the SIT will now only probe the Cordelia drug raid case, involving Samir Khan, the son-in-law of NCP leader Nawab Malik, in which a chargesheet has already been filed, and in which actor Armaan is included. Kohli.

A senior NCB official told Indian Express“The SIT will now investigate only these three cases. While initially six cases were transferred to the SIT, it was learned that no foreign links existed in the remaining three cases and were dropped from the NCB probe.

In the three cases that were omitted, there was no known person among the accused. All three cases related to seizure of petty drugs in Mumbra, Jogeshwari and Nagpada were registered in Mumbai.

Now it appears that the SIT investigation is focused on Sameer Khan and Cordelia drug bust case. So far the SIT has recorded the statement of Karan Sajnani, who was arrested along with Sameer Khan in January this year.

Further, the NCB has made an application before a court for taking voice samples of Khan to further its investigation. Agency sources said that they had found voice samples between Khan and Sajnani during forensic analysis and hence they wanted her voice sample to confirm the same.

When asked whether the chargesheet has already been filed in the case, an NCB official said, “There is a provision in the law that the investigation can continue after the chargesheet. If we get more evidence, we can file a supplementary charge sheet in the case.”

Sources said that the NCB will soon summon Sameer Khan to record his statement in connection with the case. Khan was released on bail by a special NDPS court in September.

In the Cordelia case, NCB officials have recorded the statements of some of the accused, including actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and Arbaaz Merchant. An official said that the NCB will file a charge sheet in the SIT case.

NCB SIT will also file chargesheet in Armaan Kohli case. Kohli was arrested by the NCB in August this year for possessing 1.2 grams of cocaine.

Apart from Kohli, some alleged drug smugglers were also arrested in this case. Sources said that the SIT of NCB will summon the accused to record their statements.
