Tuesday afternoon a lockout Laurier McDonald High School It ended without incident after several hours in the Saint-Léonard borough of Montreal.

Montreal police spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant said an unknown threat was made targeting the school at around 1:30 p.m., prompting the lockdown.

The officers dispatched to the spot immediately formed a security cordon and searched the grounds both outside and inside the school premises.

Classes were evacuated one by one and police remained on site to ensure the safety of both students and staff.

“We want to make sure we didn’t miss anything,” he said.

The nature of the threats was not disclosed and Brabant was unable to say whether the school received the alleged threats by phone or email.

“We have an investigation that has been opened to try to find the person who made this threat,” Brabant said.
