Montreal – Pedestrian in hospital after hit-and-run collision in Montreal | globalnews.ca

Police is investigating A hit and run collision Friday evening in the Ville-Marie borough of Montreal.

Montreal police spokesman Raphael Bergeron said the incident happened at the intersection of Berry Street and de Maisonneuve Boulevard at around 6 p.m.

Bergeron said it appeared the driver had the right of way, with the vehicle traveling north on Berry Street and the intersection had a green traffic light.

But the driver did not stop after hitting.

The victim, a man believed to be in his 40s, was taken to hospital.

Bergeron said he suffered a serious upper body injury.

The details of the vehicle are yet to be released by the police after receiving statements from different witnesses.

Motorists were being asked to stay away from the area.

Berry was closed between Stay-Catherine and Ontario Streets to allow the investigation.
