Mohammad Amir’s ‘cheap’ remark on Pakistan T20 World Cup team selection creates ruckus – India Times Hindi News

Pakistan has announced its 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 and Mohammad Amir’s tweet under his belt, where he summarized Pakistan’s selection policy in a viral tweet, is gaining a lot of traction on social media.

Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan Cricket The Board (PCB) announced its 15-member squad which saw the return of Shaheen Shah Afridi. Apart from this, the squad also had left-hander Shan Masood, who is yet to play in one T20I, while Haider Ali was recalled after playing last in the format in December 2021.

Masood has been called to play T20 for the first time due to his good form in the T20 Blast in England. He has played for Pakistan in Tests and ODIs, last representing them in the longest format in 2021.

Meanwhile, something must have bothered Amir, who was found guilty of match-fixing and was later handed a six-year ban. Although he made a comeback in 2016, he took off his shoes at the age of 28. Still, he keeps taking digs at the Pakistan cricket administration. Now, in his latest post, he has attacked the selectors as they reacted to Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2022 squad.

“Cheap selection of chief selector,” he said in a tweet.

Pakistan on Thursday named their 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 to be held in Australia, with pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi set to make a comeback from his injury.

Afridi was ruled out of the Asia Cup after being advised 4-6 weeks of rest by the medical team following a right knee ligament injury. He sustained the injury while fielding during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle in July.

“Shaheen, who is undergoing rehabilitation for a knee injury in London, is expected to resume bowling early next month,” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement.
