Amid widespread protests against the ‘Agneepath’ military recruitment scheme in Bihar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday said there are many doubts in the minds of the youth about the scheme and demanded its withdrawal.

Addressing a press conference here, he asked whether it was an MGNREGA-like initiative for educated youth or there was a “hidden agenda” of the RSS.

Yadav also appealed to the youth to peacefully protest against this scheme.

He asked why is Prime Minister Narendra Modi silent on the whole matter?

He said that the government talks of ‘One Rank, One Pension’ but has come up with the scheme of ‘No Rank, No Pension’.

The former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar asked 20 questions to the government and said that there are many doubts in the minds of the people which the government should clear.

Yadav asked why there was no Agneepath for the officers joining the army.

“Protests are taking place in many parts of the country and there is anger among those who want to become soldiers,” he said.

Yadav demanded that the scheme be withdrawn.

He rubbished the claims of the BJP blaming the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for the arson and violence and said the Center is responsible but blames the opposition for it.
