The 30-year-old’s song comes nearly two weeks after he first hinted about his return to music, sharing a quick soundbite of a single 31 December. In her original announcement posted on Instagram, the singer revealed that the track’s release date would be January 13 – which also happens to be her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth‘s birthday.
(In subsequent posts, Miley noted that her single would debut during different time zones, debuting simultaneously on January 12 in the US and January 13 in other parts of the world — include Liam’s native Australia.) .
And although Miley hasn’t commented on whether or not her latest song was Meaning To debut on her former birthday, her lyrics still speak of the self-love that reigns supreme over seemingly ill-fated romances.
