A day after two unidentified bodies were recovered from a drain in Meerut’s Sardhana area, the police have identified a suspect after identifying the victims. These women, residents of Sardhana, were living in Noida for a few months and it is feared that they have been murdered in some other district other than Meerut. They were relatives and had been missing for a few weeks.
Police is waiting for the postmortem report.
“The bodies were quite swollen, and it seemed that we had found them after some time. We have identified one suspect and the evidence is being corroborated through electronic surveillance. An FIR under relevant IPC sections is also being registered,” said Meerut (rural) SP Keshav Kumar.
The police suspect that the suspect was complaining against one of the victims for rejecting his love. The police have identified the vehicle used to transport the bodies. Police said that more than one person was allegedly involved in the murder conspiracy. Police are tracing the last known location through mobile phones to trace the sequence of events.
