New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday (August 3, 2022) expanded her cabinet and inducted nine new faces, including former BJP MP Babul Supriyo. In the cabinet reshuffle, the first time since the Trinamool Congress (TMC) returned to power for the third time in a row in 2021, Supriyo, Snehasis Chakraborty, Partha Bhowmik, Udayan Guha and Pradeep Majumdar were sworn in as cabinet ministers at the Raj Bhavan by Governor La. Ganesan. Tribal leaders Birbaha Hansda and Biplab Roy Chowdhury took oath as ministers of state with independent charge. Tajmul Hussain and Satyajit Burman took oath as ministers of state.

There has been a reshuffle in Mamata Banerjee’s cabinet amid the party’s arrest of senior minister Partha Chatterjee by the ED in the school job scam.

Earlier on Monday, Banerjee had made a big change in her party. And announced that there will be a reshuffle in the cabinet on Wednesday.
