‘Looks like Virat Kohli has taken the burden off his head’: Saba Karim on Team India’s practice session in South Africa – India Times Hindi News

Former India wicket-keeper batsman Saba Karim feels Test captain Virat Kohli looks comfortable in the practice session ahead of the Test series against South Africa. The first Test of the three-match series will begin on December 26. The Indian team has started its practice session at Centurion and the BCCI has posted several pictures of Kohli and other players working hard with the coaching staff.

Karim said that looking at the pictures of Kohli in the training session, it seems that the burden has been removed from his head after all the controversy between him and the BCCI.

“It seems like the burden has been removed from Virat Kohli’s head. He can now play with an open mind and resume his Test career. Hopefully he will perform like he did two years ago,” Karim told India News.

Kohli was sacked from the post earlier this month, and the day comes after Ganguly claimed that the BCCI had not asked Kohli to step down from T20I captaincy in September and the selectors had asked him to step down from the 50-over captaincy. Had to be dropped because they wanted a captain. For the white ball format. However, Kohli refuted Ganguly’s statement during his explosive press conference on Wednesday before leaving for the South Africa Test series.

The cricket fraternity was left completely confused after the captain denied the BCCI chief’s statement.

Whereas, Karim feels that Kohli will emulate his form from the practice sessions in the Test series against South Africa.

“If he bats with an open mind and attitude, he can replicate those performances. I am sure that the form he has shown in the practice session, the same form will be seen in the match as well.

The former selector also said that a divided captaincy will be a big challenge for the Indian cricket team on many fronts.

“It is a big challenge for the Indian team on many fronts. We have never seen a split captaincy before. This is the first time that India are taking to the field with this new approach – white ball captain Rohit Sharma, red ball captain Virat Kohli. It will take some time for the players to understand this.”

Karim further said that along with Kohli, Rahul Dravid also has a big responsibility to take the team forward.

“Also, there will be a huge responsibility on Virat Kohli and the team management, especially Rahul Dravid, how they take the team forward. There are a lot of challenges but with the maturity and experience this team has, I am sure India will come out of this phase with flying colours. ,
