London defeated Ottawa 2–1 in a Friday night shootout at TD Place in Ottawa, Ontario.

The Knights edged the 67’s 1–0 in another shootout on December 9 in London, Ontario.

Ruslan Gazizov scored the game-winner in the fourth period, but a save by Knights rookie goaltender Zack Bowen in the shootout and regulation earned him his first star honors while playing in his hometown.

Bowen grew up in Kanata just outside Ottawa, Ontario, and made 28 stops in the first 65 minutes of the game.

He made a game-saving stop in the third round of a shootout on 67’s sniper Vincenzo Rohrer in Rohrer’s return to the lineup from injury. London forward Ryan Winterton then scored to extend the shootout and Bowen made a save on Will Guerrier to open the door for Gazizov’s finish.

The only shot that beat Bowen during the game was a rebound of a Brady Stonehouse shot that went to Matthew Mayich at 4:58 of the third period. Due to which the game was tied at 1-1.

The Knights had led by the 5:30 mark of the first period.

The Denver Broncos won seven of eight bouts in the opening round. He won back-to-back draws to Alec Leonard in the Ottawa zone and twice found Leonard a hard shot. The first time it was intercepted and held by 67’s goalkeeper Max Donoso. Leonard hit the post on the second shot to give London a 1–0 lead.

London almost won the game twice before the shootout.

With 14.7 seconds left in the third period, Barkey threw a pass to Brody Crane, and then with seconds ticking down to zero in overtime, Easton Cowan made his way to the net and got away a shot that was saved by the 67’s Max Donoso. .

Ottawa defeated London 28–25.

The win improved the Knights’ road record to 15–4.

Bowen has now won nine games in a row.
