Local lemonade stand makes a comeback after being stolen

Buffalo, NY (WKBW) — You all know how the saying goes.

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. For “Se Se Clarke,” that’s what she likes to do.

“It’s going to be a hot summer day, and they need some lemonade. So, they’re going to come to my lemonade stand,” say Kaho.

She is a 7 year old entrepreneur whose smile is always sticking on her face. He and his family sell lemonade at Say Says Lemonade at the corner of Broadway and Jefferson Avenue.

When she first got the vision for this lemonade stand, her father, Jonathan Clark, knew right away that it had to be a good one.

“Since this was my kid, I wanted to make the best lemonade stand for him that I could,” Clark said.

But Clark said it was a little too good for a lemonade stand.

“It was great that they stole it,” Clark said.

Kaho Sai’s lemonade stand was stolen in 2021. Her father then and there decided it was time to get to work and rebuild it.

“I went to my old company, and they gave me windows and skylights, and sold me the siding. It started with just a couple of fours, and it went on from there,” Clarke said.

He built Say Say, a new lemonade house, and it was ornate. He just wanted to make her smile.

“I wanted him to be happy, and wanted him to like it the same way as before,” Clarke said.

All these have deep meaning. Clark has a business right next to Say Say’s in which he has invested so much of his life. He only wants to teach her how to take care of her money, so that she is financially independent.

“Eventually I won’t be here. I just want to know that she is good. That’s exactly how my family raised us,” Clarke said.
