New DelhiA woman was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner in west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area and the accused was arrested within 12 hours of the incident. The police gave this information on Friday. A police officer said that the accused has been identified as Manpreet, a resident of Sangam Apartment in Paschim Vihar East. Manpreet has also been found involved in six criminal cases including attempt to murder, kidnapping for ransom and Arms Act.
According to Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Singh Yadav, the victim’s daughter Rekha Rani, a resident of Ganesh Nagar, told the police on December 1 that she lives with her mother and uncle Manpreet in her house.
On December 1, when the victim’s daughter woke up at six in the morning, Manpreet fed her pills and asked her to sleep. When he got suspicious, he asked Manpreet about his mother. She told that she had gone to her maternal home. market,” said the police officer.

“She went to her cousin’s house in Paschim Vihar and called the police. He told the police that there was a dispute between Manpreet and his mother over money for some time. He suspected that Manpreet had harmed his mother. The police then reached the victim’s house in Ganesh Nagar. and broke open the door,” said the officer.
Rekha was found dead inside the house. He had multiple lacerations on his face and neck and his right ring finger was found to be cut off.

However, Manpreet was found absconding. With the help of special technical investigation, Manpreet was traced and nabbed from his native village Alipur in Punjab’s Patiala district, the police officer said.
During interrogation, Manpreet revealed that he had come in contact with Rekha in 2015.
“They fell in love and started living together at his house in Ganesh Nagar in Tilak Nagar area,” the police officer said. Gradually Rekha started feeling insecure about him and neither let him talk to his family. Gave and neither allowed to meet.
He said, ‘Manpreet was feeling trapped in his relationship with Rekha. So he plans to eliminate her.
