‘Light felt’ earthquake reported in southern Ontario near Buffalo, NY Globalnews.ca

Southerners Ontario reported that they “lightly felt” the 3.8-magnitude Earthquake That originated just south of the border near Buffalo, NY, on Monday.

The earthquake was reported in West Seneca, NY – southeast of Buffalo – at approximately 6:15 p.m.

This earthquake was initially reported by Canada at magnitude 4.2, but was later downgraded to a magnitude 3.8 earthquake by US government agencies.

Earthquake Canada said that “there are no reports of damage, and none are expected.”

Users took to Twitter and listed areas in southern Ontario such as the Niagara, St. Catharines and Hamilton regions where they said they felt shaking and shaking from the quake.

Meanwhile, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Turkey and Syria on Monday, toppling hundreds of buildings and killing more than 1,900 people.

Hundreds of people are still feared trapped under the debris and the death toll is expected to rise.
