Multan, July 1

Media reports said that the photographs of slain Indian singer Sidhu Musewala have been used in the campaign poster of PTI’s candidate for PP-217 in Multan, Zain Qureshi for the Pakistan Punjab by-election.

The popular Punjabi singer died on May 29, causing a shock wave among his fans across the world. As reported by The News, he was equally famous for his tunes among Punjabi speakers in Pakistan as well.

Now Moosewala’s pictures have surfaced on the poster of the PTI candidate for the Pakistan Punjab by-election to be held on July 17.

It featured Zain Qureshi, son of former foreign minister and PTI vice-president Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and other local party leaders, with Musewala referring to his hit song ‘295’, The News reported.

Reacting to the viral pictures, Zain expressed his ignorance about the posters.

Speaking to BBC Urdu, Zain said, “I want to thank all those who have printed Sidhu Musewala’s picture on the poster as this poster has become very viral because of his picture. Earlier, none of our posters had gone so viral. The PTI leader further said that “they are trying to find out who printed the picture on the poster and the reason behind it”.
