Jalen Rose, an ESPN analyst who played in the NBA for several years, targeted Davis for sitting through the celebration.
“Yeah, Greenie, it’s a really big deal,” Rose said on ESPN’s “Get Up” on Wednesday. “And I’m not going to cheat it — it’s one thing they lost the game. Anthony Davis, it was a high-level game, he didn’t play well. … He’s a professional. Of course, he wanted to win. They ended up losing.
“There’s no way on God’s green earth that you’re going to be sitting down – as a fan of the game – while the greatest record in basketball history is being broken. Rose said he didn’t think the Lakers would try to trade Davis to sit on the bench while James took the shot at making history.
“But it’s not a long-term relationship when your second best player, Anthony DavisDeliberately not celebrating LeBron James in a moment the whole world is watching,” he said. “It’s a poor look at Anthony Davis.”
