Lahore rickshaw harassment victim identifies four suspects

Lahore: During an identification parade in Lahore’s Camp Jail on Wednesday, a Lahore rickshaw harassment victim has identified four people who had videotaped the incident.

According to the police, on August 14, 2021, suspects named Usman, Irfan, Abdur Rehman and Sajid were taken into custody for allegedly harassing one of the two girls sitting in a Kingki rickshaw.

A report regarding the identification parade will be presented before the judicial magistrate, after which the suspects will be produced in court. After this, the police will demand physical remand of the accused.

The prime suspect is absconding.

The incident was brought to light when a video showing a man jumping through Lahore’s circular road on a moving rickshaw, and forcibly kissing one of his female occupants, spread on social media.

The woman, along with another woman and a child, was seen harassing a couple of motorcyclists while plying the rickshaw, besides abusing the women and making obscene gestures.

The incident was registered on August 21.
