Kulwant’s victory may bring change in Mohali Municipal Corporation

As AAP’s Kulwant Singh celebrated his victory in Mohali, he insisted that Mayor Amarjit Singh Sidhu should accept his moral responsibility and resign immediately.

Many alleged that when Balbir Singh Sidhu was in power, he wrongly made his brother Amarjeet the mayor in February 2021.

The results are here, the mayor should resign immediately taking moral responsibility,” Kulwant said.

Asked whether Amarjeet would be removed from the post of mayor, Kulwant said he would not do so as he was elected mayor by the people.

Kulwant Singh also alleged that the municipal elections were rigged and Sidhu misused his power to win the elections.

It has happened but now I will do positive politics. I want to implement holistic development in my constituency and my entire group will work in that direction,” Kulwant said.

During the municipal elections, Kulwant Singh had to face defeat as he lost to Amrik Singh Somal of Congress. Kulwant Singh left the Shiromani Akali Dal and contested the elections by forming his own ‘Azad Group’. Kulwant’s team was successful in winning 10 out of 50 wards but could not prove decisive.
