English amateur golfer Chris Kim becomes the youngest golfer to make the cut pga tour The incident occurred nearly a decade after Byron Nelson shot a 4-under 67 in the second round of the CJ Cup on Friday.
The 16-year-old golfer, who is the son of former lpga tour Player Ji-Hyun Suh had one easy goal in the tournament.
“Honestly, just make the cut,” he told reporters after the round. “I knew something around this number would be pretty cool, but I’m so happy to have shot it.”

Kim carded six birdies, including one on the 18th hole at TPC Craig Ranch, and became the youngest player to make the cut at a Tour event since Kyle Suppa in 2015.
“It feels great,” he said of his accomplishment. “I think I’ve played well the last two days. Just been patient out there and I think it worked out.”

At the age of 16 years, seven months, Kim surpassed 13-time PGA Tour winner Jordan Spieth as the youngest player to make the cut at Nelson.
Kim is currently at T24 through 13 holes in the third round on Saturday.

With two more rounds left, Kim said her only goal is to “go as low as possible” and have fun doing it.
“I’ve enjoyed it a lot these past few days, and being here two more days makes it even sweeter.”
