Kovid: More than 11 crore vaccine doses administered in Maharashtra

Maharashtra crossed the 110 million, or 11 crore, Covid vaccine doses at 5.30 pm on Thursday. Total dose of 11,00,26,925 vaccines COVID-19 administered till date. While 3.76 crore people have received both doses of the Kovid-19 vaccine, 7.24 crore people have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Maharashtra had achieved 100 million, or 10 crore, COVID vaccinations on 9 November. While this is a dynamic figure, around 94 lakh are due to receive the second dose of the COVID vaccine, Dr Pradeep Vyas, Additional Chief Secretary (Health), Maharashtra, told Indian Express,

“According to our daily immunization chart, the number of people taking the second dose is much more than those receiving the first dose,” Vyas said.

According to a report by the state health department on immunization, which was presented in the cabinet meeting on Thursday, more than 4 crore beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, While 1.64 crore are fully vaccinated. In the age group of 45 years and above, a total of 1.77 crore have been fully vaccinated, while 2.86 crore have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Over 11 lakh healthcare workers and over 18 lakh frontline workers have been fully vaccinated with both doses of the vaccine.
