A 20-year-old woman was arrested after a report of a man trying to break into a woman’s home in the 1600 block of 22nd Street West was reported, according to the Regina Police Service.
When officers arrived and attempted to drop the knife he was carrying, he refused, according to a Press release.
Police say the woman began moving toward the officers while holding a knife, at which point a powered energy weapon (CEW) commonly known as a Taser was deployed.
He was taken into custody without further incident and assessed at the scene by Medavi Health Services, according to the press release.
The incident will be reviewed in accordance with Saskatoon Police policy.
