Waterloo Regional Police say a 21-year-old Kitchener man has been charged with sexual assault at a Kitchener park earlier this week.
Police said a woman was passing through McLennan Park around 10 a.m. on Wednesday when a stranger approached her.
He said a man tried to apprehend her before the clash broke out but she managed to escape and called up the authorities.
The 39-year-old Kitchener woman suffered minor injuries as a result, but did not require medical attention.
Police released a video of a man walking on a footpath, which they wanted to speak about in connection with Thursday’s incident.
On Thursday night, they arrested the 21-year-old Kitchener man and accused him of sexual assault.
Police say that he was kept in custody till the hearing on bail.
